Success Stories
Platinum Minds would like to congratulate the following scholars.
Robert Adams is a senior at Trenton Catholic High Academy, where he is Vice-President of his senior class. He will be studying to be a Marine Biologists. He was selected as youth representative for the 2013 Building a Grad Nation Summit. The Summit, dedicated to ending the dropout crisis and making all young people college and career ready, is organized by America’s Promise Alliance and will be held in Washington, DC from February 24th -26th, 2013. As a youth representative, he received a scholarship to cover travel and accommodation expenses, and will have the opportunity to actively participate in all parts of the Summit, including a youth pre-conference that will take place on Sunday, February 24th.
He is a QuestBridge Scholar and has reached Ambassador status in the Platinum Minds program and is looking to graduate as a Platinum Ambassador in the organization.
He was chosen from a national pool of more than 140 applications in a rigorous process through which I demonstrated my leadership ability, commitment to the mission of America’s Promise Alliance, and my track record of community service.
He will join hundreds of educators, policy makers, business leaders, young leaders and staff from community organizations at the 3rd Annual Summit. Former Secretary of State Gen. Colin L. Tashad Jordan is a senior at Marist High School
with a 4.0 GPA he plans to attend Montclair State
Universisty with a major is computer science.
Al_Jani Brice
A Senior at East Orange High School is graduating
with a cumulative GPA of 4.03. All honors.
He will be studying to become an Actuarial, or
businessman, for his interest is in both Actuary,
and business, with his eye on being the CEO of a
major company. Al-Jani is very active in our community
initiatives, Al-Jani says I,”feels a humane responsibility
to look out for my fellow man.” He will be
attending Rutgers University in the Fall.
Isiah Roberts
A Senior at Academy High School is graduating
with honors but hasn’t quite made his selections,
“still waiting for the right financial package”.
Qamar Simmons
A Senior at Christ The King Prep
He will be attending St. Peters University in Jersey City
with a major in Accounting and a minor in Criminal Justice
Clay Austin is a senior at Seton Hall Prep School. With a current GPA of 3.64 and SAT score of 1390 he is excited about the prospects of going to a Division 1 college with an athletic and an academic scholarship.
